The reference airport is Raiatea (IATA code: RFP), easily reached by an internal flight of about 30 minutes from Tahiti Airport. The Uturoa Marina is five minutes by taxi from the airport. The airlines operating to Tahiti Faa'a International Airport (IATA code: PPT), located a few kilometres from the city of Papeete, are AirFrance from Europe; American Airlines and Alaska Airlines from the United States. If you love snorkelling, you absolutely cannot miss the Jardin de Corail in Tahaa. This small shallow channel with crystal-clear waters lies in an idyllic setting in the middle of one of Polynesia's largest lagoons. The exploration of the spot consists of gently drifting with the current along the channel. As you move over colourful, well-preserved corals, you will observe schools of butterfly fish, brightly coloured wrasses, clown fish nestling in their anemones, and giant clams sunbathing just below the surface of the water.
Once the boat is moored at the exit of the channel, you will have to walk about 300 metres along the beach to reach the starting point, and then drift off in the opposite direction. It is essential to be equipped with rock shoes or sandals, as the seabed is composed of sometimes sharp coral debris.
