Day 1: Check-In

Check in from 5pm on Saturday at the beautiful Gotenburg Marina. Located 30 km from Landvetter International Airport, it can be easily reached by taxi or bus and is equipped with all amenities. Gotenburg is a town with a strong maritime culture that you will be able to breathe in from the moment you arrive, and is the privileged gateway to the wonderful archipelago that stretches to the west of the Swedish coast. After the technical check-in and a brief presentation of the boat, you will be able to take your place in the cabins and load the galley before setting sail.

Day 2

We set sail from Gotenburg towards the nearby island of Marstrand (19 nm): one of the most precious treasures of the Swedish archipelago, with the small town that bases its livelihood on fishing and the herring trade. Famous for being the most important sailing centre on the west coast, it hosts the Swedish Match Cup every year. You'll be captivated by the Carlstens Fortress, dating back to 1658, which towers majestically over the island with its walls occupying the horizon line.

Day 3

After breakfast, we set sail for a nice navigation to the north (20 nm) and arrive on the Island of Gullholmen. The most western island in the Bohuslän Archipelago is also one of the most suggestive fishing villages of the coast. Built on the rocks, it will welcome you with its lovely alleys among the little and colorful wooden houses overlooking the clear and blue water of the canal.

Day 4

We proceed through the archipelago, where you will be enchanted by the wild nature of granitic coasts smoothed and carved by the sea, surrounded by green pine forests and little fishing villages. We will then arrive in Hunnebostrand (19 nm), one of the most ancient coastal cities in Bohuslän, famous Swedish touristic location dating back to the 13th century. Here you will find super beautiful beaches and a lively town where you can spend a nice evening.

Day 5

We head north sailing to Väderöarna (13 nm) and its small archipelago. These little islands with their warm and windy weather will astound you for the nice contrast given by a luxuriant and at the same time rough landscape, the favourite habitat for many wild species. You can admire one of the biggest seal colony on the whole coast, but also porpoises and many marine birds.

Day 6

We take off from Väderöarna to reach Strömstad and the Koster Islands. Known as the last western outpost of Sweden, this area hosts the first Swedish marine natural park: Kosterhavet Reserve. The town of Strömstad will welcome you with its many attractions, the lively shops and famous restaurants where you can have super fresh fish dishes.

Day 7

Only 7 nm from Strömstad, we will meet on our way the enchanted Kosteröarna or Koster Islands. A true paradise within a pure and uncontaminated natural reserve, where you can find wonderful beaches close to forests and tiny fishing villages, enclosed by high cliffs of grey granite stones. On these islands you can rent a bike directly on the pier and explore the natural reserve, letting yourself be enchanted by the magic light that inspired many artists and local painters.

Day 8

We set sail from the magic Koster Islands for a suggestive navigation towards Grebbestad (18 nm): one of the most beautiful fishermen towns of the western Swedish coast. A picture-perfect landscape made of rocky coastlines and picturesque little wooden houses painted with pastel colors, which are reflected in the clear cobalt-blue waters. The port, real heart of the town, is located by the canal leading to the Fjällbacka Archipelago, and is a wonderful place to enjoy a nice stroll in the local atmosphere and culture.

Day 9

This day we sail to the south towards Smögen (28 nm) and Kungshamn: a fantastic destination through an overflowing nature and spectacular cliffs of pink granite, with thousands of blue shades. Smögen, on the western coast of Sweden, is one of the most beautiful touristic summer locations in Sweden. You can get lost walking in complete relax among the little shops, visit the picturesque fish market, and choose an excellent fish restaurant for a nice lobster dinner.

Day 10

We leave after breakfast to reach Käringön Island (19 nm) and its typical fishing village surrounded by a fairytale landscape. Walking from the port towards the lighthouse, you can admire the little red houses of the fishermen, with their boathouses and lovely gardens, unaltered from the 20th century. Käringön Island is also famous for its oyster farms, where you can taste the different qualities with a glass of good white wine.

Day 11

Through a short navigation (7 nm) you will reach the little Åstol Island (7nm): rocky and with few inhabitants, it is part of the Tjörn municipality, including a hundred islands and accessible only by boat or ferry. We set sail for Gotenburg (20 nm) where this journey ends. Halfway along the route, you can make a stop to visit the beautiful island of Hypeln where you can also refuel with gas and diesel. Return to the Marina at 18:00 with overnight stay in the port included.

Day 12: Check-out

Disembarkation is scheduled at 09:00. After the checkout at Gothenburg Marina, you will have time to visit the town and also rent a small motor boat to explore the canals and eat in one of the little restaurants in the port: the perfect conclusion for this unforgettable holiday.

The itinerary may be subject to variations based on weather conditions, safety conditions and the technical assessments of the captain of the boat. This program is intended as indicative and not binding.

Don't miss a  visit to the typical fishmarket 'Feskekörka', a walk throught the alleys in the Haga city center, taking a break in one of the typical cafes tastying the swedish cuisine. Magasinsgatan is the shopping and night life district, insted for history lovers we suggest a visit to the  Älvsborg or Skansen Kronan fortresses. Sweden will offer you the opportunity to see fabled landscapes surrounded by unpolluted nature; if you are a flora and fauna addicted, you have to spend some time inside the Trädgårdsföreningen (bothanical garden) or in the Universeum.
