Day 1 - Check-in:
After the transfer from Panama City to San Blas (Taxi + Speedboat two ways: 110 USD per person), we finally set sail towards our first stop, Cayo Lemon, first pearl of San Blas and gateway to this paradise of islands. Under the tropical sun, where the water is always crystal clear, you will admire reefs full of life and colors.
Experience the freedom that only a boat and the sea can give. We are now entering the Caribbean rhythm, where there are no set times and we can live in freedom, doing only what we like. Thanks to the modern tenders, we can move around easily to go snorkeling in the best spots, among clownfishes, parrotfishes, angelfishes, turtles… but also lizards and birds hiding among the mangroves. The wild and uncontaminated nature of this place will never cease to surprise you with its fantastic patterns. Once explored the area, we move towards Chichime and its lagoon, where we will spend the night after a good lobster dinner.
After breakfast, dives and swims, we sail to Cayo Holandes, a true “natural pool” with pure water where you can relax. Here we will start to meet the Kuna, who will approach us on their traditional boats, intrigued by our presence: they will bring with them some of their local handicraft products, but also fruits and vegetables that they sell to sustain their community, indissolubly linked to centuries-old traditions. We sail from the center of Cayo Holandes to its eastern far end, where we will make a stop for the most beautiful snorkeling in the waters of this island, around the bay known as “the pools”.
We raise mainsail and jib and head to Coco Bandero. The breeze carries us fast until we see the green of the palm trees and the always-crystal clear water that are waiting for us. We will spend the afternoon among colorful fishes, anemones and sea stars, and then enjoy some fresh fish under the lights of a wonderful beach barbeque. After a sip of rum under the stars, we will be ready for sweet dreams.
Coco Bandero is worth a long break: the island creates a natural shelter hiding one of the richest reefs in the archipelago. You will be able to dive among rays, colorful fishes and turtles.
Breakfast aboard and then straight towards Narganà, where we have the possibility to learn more about the local population. The Kuna will welcome us with their smiles and colorful dresses. You will be surprised to see how they still live in complete harmony with nature, far from everything, without technology and faithful to their ancient habits. They are usually very hospitable, so we will try to eat with them to fully enjoy this precious cultural exchange.
After we have organized our supplies of food and water, we head west to reach the small and inhabited islands of Canbombia, south of Coco Bandero.
Salar and Green Island will show up in the morning. These islands are probably the most beautiful in the archipelago, so we will spend the day exploring and enjoying this natural paradise. Green Island will give you a feeling of peace and relax never experienced before.
We sail for a couple of hours in a crosswind to reach Salar, the last stop of our itinerary. The island and its reef will protect us from the sea, allowing us to sleep quietly under the stars. Time for one last swim over the coral reef to take home some salt and sun. The colorful and amusing local boat is waiting for you for the return trip by jeep through the tropical forest and to Panama City, where you can spend the night in the “movida” of the Casco Viejo neighbourhood.
The itinerary might be subject to variations due to weather conditions, safety and technical evaluations of the Captain of the boat. This programming is intended as indicative and non-binding.
