Set sail to the Kornati Park

If you love to spend time inside unpolluted nature or snorkeling in crystal clear sea, the Kornati archipelago are a must-see of your sailing cruise. The Kornati, Croatian name given to this archipelago, are characterized by rocky coastline by the sea, scattered all around by almost 150 different islets.  The archipelago is part of the National Kornati Park, a protected site that is possible to visit only respecting the nature. The landscapes that you admire here will leave you breathless, in particular the natural shape of these rocky islets and for the trick of the light created by the crystal-clear water and the sunlight. If you want to spend your holiday far from the frenetic every-day life, in Kornati archipelago you will find a real and unique earthly paradise; it is very easy to find yourselves alone here, on board of your own boat, admiring these marvelous natural landscapes. The Istrian weather is mild along the coastline thanks to the alpine elevations which protect the coast, while in the hinterland the climate is continental. July and August are the hottest months, with a temperature always around the 24°C. Istria is characterised by Bora, Mistral and sirocco.

The main airports to reach Istria are Zagabria (ZAG), Pola (PUY) and Fiume (RJK) or the main ferry companies are Jadrolinija, Snav orTrieste Lines.

Day 1: Check-in

Check-in available in the afternoon at the Charter offices in the Embarkation Marina. After finishing the quick procedures of taking over the boat (technical check-in) and boarding the galley, you can enjoy an aperitif and dinner near the Marina or alternatively set sail immediately and enjoy the first sailing.

Day 2

After breakfast on board we will visit the picturesque town of Rovinij, walking in the historical center, along the alleys created by ancient Romans and embellished by many other cultures, first of all the Venetian one. Once done with this sightseeing tour, we will set sail and use the wind, sailing to the south towards Pula, the island of Veruda and the natural park of Premantura, where we can enjoy some well-deserved relax and a dinner under the stars in this corner of protected nature. After dinner, we weigh anchor to sail towards the island of Lošinj during the night.

Day 3

After breakfast, we set sail in the direction of the islands of Olib, Silba and Premuda, a few miles south of Lošinj. An entire day dedicated to sailing and discovering every ravine, little bay and village of these picturesque islands, with the possibility of entering the port of Olib and visiting this typical little fishing village and its fish restaurants…

Day 4

Today we continue sailing to the south to approach the park of the Kornati Islands, where we can admire a fantastic natural view from the sea from the island of Zut. After a break for lunch and a relaxing swim in the uncontaminated waters of the natural park, we continue our trip towards one of the endless bays that this Dalmatian strip of land offers us: the islands can offer our boat a safe and quiet anchoring for the night. You will only have the choose the place you prefer!

Day 5

We leave in the early morning after breakfast, heading for the northern Kornati Islands, a wonderful and uncontaminated natural park including the biggest archipelago in the Mediterranean with its 89 islands, islets and cliffs all worth discovering. We will sail around the little islands to enjoy a priceless natural landscape from the sea. After lunch and a nice bath in the clear waters of the natural park, we continue our trip: you will have the opportunity to go snorkeling in crystal clear waters, in a lunar landscape, before enjoying the sunset and a dinner at anchor by the island of Zut.

Day 6

You will wake up cuddled by the sea while heading north towards our disembarkation port. The skipper will welcome you in the cockpit for breakfast! Between a tack and a jibe, we will arrive to one of the islands of Kvarner region: together we will choose the best bay or village where we can spend the night…

Day 7

The last day of this cruise will take us again to Istria, where to enjoy an afternoon or evening discovering these beautiful towns. Return to port is scheduled for late afternoon.

Day 1: Check-in

Day 2

After breakfast, we will circumnavigate Krk to descend southwards towards the island of Rab, also known as "the island of love" for the undisputed charm it has for all travelers. Splendid pinewoods that reach the sea waters, with a thousand shades of blue, soft cultivated hills covered with olive trees and vineyards, pristine coves and golden sand beaches: you'll immediately fall in love! In the afternoon we'll visit the city surrounded by high medieval walls; among the beautiful stone-paved streets you will find numerous places to taste the famous Rab cake and, if you wish, you can venture out on an excursion to the Kamenjak mountain to admire a magnificent sunset. We'll stay the night in the city of Rab.

Day 3

Morning departure from Rab to reach Zadar, along the island of Pag, with a stop on the islet of Maun for a swim. Once in Zadar, take a guided tour of the city, the ancient capital of Dalmatia and today the undisputed cultural center of the region. Here we can find historical monuments of international importance, from the Roman Forum dating back to the 1st century BC, and the splendid medieval Basilica of San Donato, finishing with the spectacular walls that surround the city and where the two great gates are set, an ancestral symbol of the border between the sea and the mainland, dating back to the 14th century A.C.. We will have our dinner here, in one of the fantastic restaurants in the city, and hop back on board for the night.

Day 4

In the morning we will set sail heading south towards the islands of Molat or Olib (depending on the availability of mooring in the small ports): both these beautiful islands are located in the northern part of the Zadar archipelago and offer peace and tranquility.

Day 5

After breakfast and a nice dip in the crystal clear waters of the archipelago, we will head towards Ilovik "the island of flowers", for a brief stop before continuing the journey towards Lošinj, a true pearl of the Adriatic, renowned for its pristine waters and crystalline coasts, dotted with green pine forests. Once on land you can take a walk along the harbor to the Botanical Garden and wander around the picturesque town of Veli Lošinj.

Day 6

From Mali Lošinj and after a fun morning dip in the water, we'll raise the anchor, heading north towards Cres. This long and narrow island will surprise you with its postcard-like landscapes with its beautiful coasts covered with oak woods and the cultivation of olive trees and vineyards. The islands of Cres and Mali were in ancient times part of a single island and were then separated by a channel, dug by the Romans.

Day 7

After breakfast, sail north to return to the Marina. Along the route you will have the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular landscapes offered by the splendid Riviera. Return to port is scheduled for late afternoon.

CLIMATE

Zadar is characterized by a typical Mediterranean weather. This area has hot and dry summers with moderated winds. The air temperature during summer time rarely goes under the 25°C; the sea temperature is always between 21°C and 25°C depending on the month, guaranteeing the bathing till October. The winters in Zadar are shortly temperate and rainy.

HOW TO ARRIVE

By plane: It is possible to reach Zara by plane flying with Lufthansa, Easyjet, Vueling Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Condor, Eurwings, Air Dolomiti, Brussels Airlines. The nearest airport is the one in Split (SPU), 98 kilometers. 

By ferry: It is possible to reach Zara from Ancona by Jadrolinja and Snav ferries. 

CULTURE AND HISTORY

During the July and August months, there is a large variety of entertainment events but also cultural. In July you will find The Split Summer Festival, an event full of theater, dance and music, in a historical landscape; the musical nights in San Donat, inspired every year by classical music and located in the Zadar cathedral.  In august there is the International Festival in the Teatro Nuovo and in the last week the Film Forum Festival takes places, and it is possible to watch movies and take part to workshops.

Day 1: Check-in

day 2

We set sail after a good breakfast and a swim in the transparent waters of the bay. We head towards the Kornati islands with a stop for lunch and bath in a special place that we discovered during our trips. We continue and enter the Kornati Park, where we will decide together where to anchor for the night. There is a wide choice and each place is worth seeing, from the little restaurants where we can moor the boat to the splendid marina of Piskera.

Day 3

Today we head towards Vodice, where we will spend the night. During the trip, however, we will stop nearby the islands of Kraprie and Kakan, a wonderful place where to spend the day with crystal clear water and a little, nice restaurant for the ones who want to go ashore for lunch. We leave again in the afternoon to reach Vodice Marina. We suggest you to have dinner at Gustav’s and taste his unmissable grilled filet.

Day 4

This morning we cast off towards Skradin, to admire the famous waterfalls. We head for Sibenik and then leave the sea and enter the river to reach Skradin. The river is beautiful and suggestive, and once arrived in Skradin we will moor the boat and reach the waterfalls with a ferry. In the evening, we will take you to a wonderful bay where we will spend the night.

Day 5

We set sail in the direction of Murter, where we will moor for the night at Marina Harmina, reference point for the once who travel in these areas. In the evening, we go ashore for a walk and a good dinner. As it will not take long to reach Murter, during the day we can stop in some beautiful places on the way.

Day 6

We leave towards Pasman, where we will moor in a bay south of the island for the night. During the trip, we will stop nearby the island of Vrgada, where we can spend a couple of hours bathing and eating. We have another night at anchor ahead of us to admire stars and planets into an uncontaminated nature.

Day 7

Set sails towards Zadar, where we will spend our last night. During the trip, we will stop on Galesnjak, the heart-shaped island where we can spend some hours having snacks and bathing. Return to port is scheduled for late afternoon.

Sibenik is set over hills and near the Cherca river’s mouth in a natural harbour connected with the sea by the St. Antonio channel. Tourism is more developed over the coastline for the nautical harbours and sailing races.

Day 1: Check-in

Day 2

We set sail in the morning and head south towards the island of Zirje, the biggest and southernmost in the Sibenik Archipelago. Known since ancient times for its abundance of fish as well as olive and fig groves, it will enchant you with its natural beauties and suggestive docks in the bays of Velika, Mala and Koromacna. In the evening, you can moor on the south in the bay of Stupica and go ashore for dinner, to try the local cuisine and excellent wines.

Day 3

From Zirje, we head north towards the Kornati National Park: a natural reserve made up of 89 of the 152 islands constituting the Kornati Archipelago. A sailboat represents one of the few means of transport that can enter this natural paradise, among white jagged coasts washed by an unparalleled crystal clear sea. The islands are almost completely uninhabited, but you can find convenient docks for your lunch break and excellent restaurants where you can enjoy the best local cuisine with super fresh fish specialties in the evening.

Day 4

We proceed to the north within the spectacular Kornati Archipelago. The marine weather conditions are always optimal for a quiet sailing along the eastern coast of Otok Kornat, among enchanted and secluded bays where we can stop to have lunch, go snorkeling and spend the night in complete relax.

Day 5

North of Kornat you fill find the wonderful island of Otok Katina, connecting, as its latin name (“chain”) says, the Long Island of Dugi Otok to Kornat. Sailing in this area requires more attention given the presence of some shallow waters, but the bays on the south of the island will reward you with wonderful seabeds and safe docks where you can spend a peaceful night.

Day 6

After breakfast, we sail to the north until we reach Otok Zut, where we can stop to have lunch and swim in Hiljaca, Saruscica or Bizikovica bay. All three are special for their white pebble beaches and a wild and uncontaminated nature. In the evening, you can moor in the suggestive Luka Zut bay and, if you like to have dinner on the seaside, you can find a convenient mooring at the dock of the elegant Restaurant Festa.

Day 7

From Otok Zut, we proceed to the east in the direction of the islands of Vrgada, representing one of the most beautiful hidden gems on the Croatian coast. Closed off to mass tourism, this island is surrounded by a spectacular mini archipelago made of 15 islets to explore by boat, and still retains a timeless charm with the perfume of pine trees and beautiful beaches enclosed by olive trees, the perfect place to relax with baths and little shore excursions. Return to port is scheduled for late afternoon.

By plane: It is possible to reach Split by plane from Rome-Fiumicino airport (FCA) or Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP), direction Dubrovnik (DBV).

By ferry: It is possible to reach Split from Ancona by Jadrolinija and Snav ferries.

Day 1: Check-in

Day 2

Finally set sail to the open sea, towards Brac island, a little village populated by vine growers, fishermen and sailors, now well-known summer route for the ones searching for beaches full of aromatic and lavander plants. Sleep in the bay after a long bath in the beautiful and scented bays in front of Split. 

Day 3

After a rich breakfast and a bath in the cobalt blue sea, we leave the dooking point towards Pakleni islands. Have a bath in Palmizana beach, before reaching Hvar village, famous from ancient times as an important Venetian maritime center. It's possible to visit the cathedral, the teather, the arsenal and the loggia of the small attractive town. 

Day 4

Today we sail towards the islet of Scedro, an unpolluted natural Reservation full of hidden bays, that will offer us an unique experience of mooring. From ancient times, the bays of Scedro have been famous for the hidden beaches and the naval combats, for example the one between  Cesare and Pompeo (49. a.C.).

Day 5

Day 5 will be set sail discovering Vis, first eastern town in the Adriatic Sea that was colonized by the Greek. Lunch and bath in the turquoise-blue water in the island of Bisevo, where there will be the opportunity to experience at 12 am the rays of sunshine lightning up the famous Blue cave. Spending the night in the bay of Komiza. 

Day 6

After breakfast set sail for an upwind that will guide us to Vis, place for water supplies, and afterward towards the bay of Mlaki Rat, on the west area of Hvar, the perfect place to spend the night. 

Day 7

Last day spent in navigation towards the island of Solta, famous for its wonderful beaches with pebbles, surrounded by a crystal clear sea, a paradise for snorkeling lovers, thanks to the excellent visibility of colorful corals, octopuses, lobsters, morays and sea horses. Return to port is scheduled for late afternoon.

Day 8: Check-out

CLIMATE

Dubrovnik is characterised by a typical Mediterranean weather with mild winters and sunny summers. The Mistral wind blows constantly, giving a peaceful breeze along the coastline, good weather and a cool, very similar to the one in open sea.

HOW TO ARRIVE

By plane: It is possible to reach Dubrovnik arriving to the city airport in Cilipi (DBV), flying with Croatia Airlines.

By ferry: The Jadrolinija ferries offer direct connection with Bari. From Ancora, you have to  stop in Split and reach Dubrovnik by car (more or less 230 km of highway along the coast).

Itinerary

This is an example itinerary suggested by the BeBlue skippers who are experts in the navigation area. The route can be planned on the needs of the group before departure or during navigation.

Day 1: Check-in

Check-in available in the afternoon at the Charter offices in the Embarkation Marina. After finishing the quick procedures of taking over the boat (technical check-in) and boarding the galley, you can enjoy an aperitif and dinner near the Marina or alternatively set sail immediately and enjoy the first sailing.

Day 2

After breakfast, we head towards the lush island of Mljet, and its National Park. An oasis of peace with unspoiled nature where you can rent a bicycle to explore the Park with its suggestive salt lakes with crystal clear waters, where you can cool off and sunbathe. You can also take a small rowboat with which you can reach the island in the center of Lake Grande on which stands an ancient and suggestive abbey. 

Day 3

In the morning we set sail towards the small island of Šćedro, where you can enjoy the sea with a thousand shades of blue and sunbathe in complete relaxation. After an exquisite lunch, head to Hvar "the island of the sun", where you can spend the afternoon exploring the town of the same name, getting lost in the lively shops and clubs of the old town. Starting from the ancient Renaissance cathedral, passing through the oldest theater in Europe founded in 1612, until you reach the scenic Spanish Fortress, from which you will enjoy the spectacle of a breathtaking sunset over the city and the bay below.

Day 4

After breakfast we sail towards the splendid bay of Lumbarda where we will stop for lunch. We then set sail towards the suggestive island of Korčula, the birthplace of the great explorer Marco Polo. Surrounded by the imposing medieval walls, the city of Korkula will amaze you with its history and ancient traditions that still blend and are perfectly integrated with everyday life. Dinner on land in one of the typical and picturesque "konobe" (taverns).

Day 5

We will leave Korčula to continue the journey to the picturesque village of Trstenik on the Pelješac peninsula. You will be fascinated by the jagged coasts covered with fragrant pine forests and the beautiful bays, where we will stop by for a dip, and we'll then have lunch, before heading towards Trstenik. The Pelješac peninsula, in addition to its natural beauty, is famous for its wine production: you can visit the renowned Grgić winery, where you can taste the excellent local wines.

Day 6

In the morning, we raise the and continue the route through the Elaphiti islands, a small archipelago located west of Dubrovnik. These islands include the islets of Šipan, Lopud and Koločep (Kalamota). Here you will find postcard landscapes with marvelous turquoise waters and golden sandy beaches, where you can take a walk, sunbathe and enjoy yourself in complete relaxation. We'll stay in Šipan bay for the night.

Day 7

From Šipan we set sail early in the morning to reach the breath-taking city of Dubrovnik. We'll have a delicious breakfast while sailing to admire the beautiful landscapes along the route between a sip of coffee and the delicacies prepared by the chef on board. Lunch on board and arrival in Dubrovnik in the early afternoon. We'll have some free time to visit this wonderful and fascinating city: you can participate in a guided tour in English, or take the cable car that leads to Mount Srđ from which to enjoy a spectacular panorama of the old city. And again, stroll aimlessly along the majestic city walls and lose yourself in the enchanted atmosphere of the streets of the ancient buildings. Return to port is scheduled for late afternoon.

Day 8: Check-out

Disembarkation is scheduled in the early morning after breakfast.
